Today, i trudged all the way to tesco to buy my darling a valentines card. I have NEVER sent anyone in my life a valentines card, not because i'm not romantic but because i think 'i love you' can and should be said at any time. Anyway, I adore her and think it will be a nice thing to do. i also bought her an oral tablet for thrush cos she took antibiotics and got thrush. So, i stop off at the post office to send them to the US. The guy sticks on the air mail sticker and then hands me a little sticky label for me to write what i'm sending.......I do....card and tablet. Then i'm thinking, how romantic am i? a valentines day card and a thrush pill!!! who said romance is dead???

we might be going away for the night on saturday to a really romantic little hideaway we go to once a year. it's beautiful, a lil scottish hamlet with the most beautiful scenery.

usually we make cards if we have time, as it means more that way. but we're both so busy now that finding the time to do that is not as easy as it used to be!

i do believe that valentines day can be over-commercialised and all that. but as part of a couple i think it's important to recognise what we have built together.

I think Valentines cards are nice , A lot of people want to know they are fancied,cared for ,loved on that date ...Your partner is a distance away so sending her a card is a lovely thing to do .

The thrush pill made me giggle .........Then i thought what if they open the card to see what you mean by pill !!

How romantic are you? I think i can be quite romantic when i like someone or im with someone .

With everything we have going on at the moment, and the fact that Maxi is having an op tomorrow I think possibly Valentines day will have to be just another day.

Last year hy made a real fuss of me, i dont really mind as long as we have each other, we may possibly have a little drink and watch a movie or something and just enjoy being together.

I like to think that I can be romantic when I am with someone. You would have to ask my exs if they thought what I done was romantic though lol.

As to valentines this year, I'm doing nothing like the singleton I am. Haven't done anything on valentines since I was 19. Not for the lack of dropping hints though lol.

I used to get a 'secret' valentines every year. My dad sent it every year without fail- forgot my birthday but never forgot valentines lol so this will be the first year that I really am doing absolutely nothing!

This year Misschevious and I arn't doing anything on the day either as Misschevious will be in hospital for a few days for an op on her ear, and so rest only will be in order on Sunday

I am sure we will have a magic meal out somewhere in a couple of weeks though. Can't beat a nice restaurant and a bottle of something bubbly

How romantic are you?
I wouldn't say I was particularly romantic... I'm fairly useless at the soppy stuff, but I think thats partly because I wasn't brought up around particularly romantic parents. The one and only time my dad bought my mum flowers her first words were "what have you done?".
I'll buy C little things just because and do things that I think she'll appreciate, but I'm not one for spontaneously buying oodles of roses / chocolates etc...

What are you buying/doing for valentines day?
I have bought the most appropriate card ever. It could have been made with C in mind. I shall try and find something suitably cute to scribble in it, although I doubt I shall get as far as composing a love poem!
I've bought some bath roses, and cleaned the bathroom in advance!
And I need to take her shopping to choose some new perfume, as she's not sure what she wants, and I don't want to get it wrong.
We had planned to do something on the 16th rather than the 14th in terms of going out for dinner etc... but I don't know now. Life events have rather changed of late and we both may have other more pressing committments rather than celebrating valentines in style.

at 7.20 this morning the postman brought me a box filled with 12 pink and purple cupcakes from my darling and a vlentines message


Im so lucky and so happy

by 7.45 this morning i was having coffee and cupcakes, what a way to start the day
